College Savings Coaching
A savings routine that fits your real budget, and keeps tuition from crowding out everything else.
Houston, Texas, and worldwide by video. Coaching support, not investment advice.
The Number Is Frightening, So the Routine Never Starts
Most families do not fail to save for college because they cannot spare anything. They stall because the total is enormous, and any amount they could realistically put aside looks pointless next to it. So the decision gets postponed to a year when there will be more room, and that year keeps moving.
The other version is the opposite and does just as much damage. A family commits to a figure that looked responsible on paper, and then spends years quietly under pressure, raiding it whenever something breaks, and feeling worse each time.
Both come from the same missing step: nobody worked out what this household can genuinely commit, every month, for the number of years it actually has to run. That is the piece coaching handles.
What I Do, and What I Send Elsewhere
College saving is the topic where the line between coaching and licensed advice matters most, so here it is before anything else rather than in small print at the bottom.
Coaching, and this is what we do
- Work out what your household can genuinely commit each month, from your real numbers
- Build a routine that survives the years it has to run, rather than a burst of good intentions
- Sequence college against your other goals so you are choosing rather than defaulting
- Keep the tuition goal from quietly crowding out everything else your family wants
- Put the transfer on a schedule, so it happens without a decision every month
- Deal with the guilt that stops people starting when the amount feels too small to matter
Licensed work, and I will say so
- Which account or plan type to use, and how it is treated for tax
- What to invest the money in, or how to allocate it
- How savings will affect financial aid eligibility
- Projections of what any amount will be worth later
- Whether to fund college ahead of your own retirement
I am a Certified Financial Coach with an M.Ed., not a CFP, a CPA, an attorney, or a registered investment adviser. I do not sell insurance, investment products, or securities, and I do not give investment advice. When a question needs a licensed professional, I will say so and work alongside the person you already trust.
Decide the Number Yourself, Then Stop Deciding It
We start from what is actually there. Your income, your fixed costs, your existing goals and whatever you are already putting away. Out of that comes a figure you can commit without the household running tight, which is usually smaller than the one people feel they ought to manage and very much larger than nothing.
Then it gets sequenced against everything else you are working toward. That part is a set of choices only you can make, and my job is to put them in front of you clearly enough that you make them on purpose instead of by whichever bill shouted loudest. Where one of those choices needs a licensed professional, we identify it and you take it to them with your numbers already in order.
After that it is automation and follow-through, the same as every other goal I coach. Money that moves on a schedule never has to survive a decision, and a college fund has to survive an awful lot of years.
Start With a Conversation
College saving sits inside Financially Fierce 1:1 coaching rather than being sold on its own, because the commitment only makes sense against the rest of your plan. If your income changes month to month, the number is harder to set and cash flow coaching comes first.
