For money that does not arrive in the same amount every month.

The Service

Budgets Assume a Steady Paycheck. Yours Is Not One.

Almost every budgeting tool starts from the same assumption: the same amount lands on the same day each month. When that is not true, the tool does not bend, it breaks. You have a good month and treat it as the new normal. You have a lean one and raid whatever was set aside. Neither decision was careless, and both came from having no plan that expected the swing.

Cash flow coaching builds the plan that expects it. Not a tighter budget, and not more discipline. A system that already knows some months are heavy and some are thin, and tells you what to do in each without you having to decide again under pressure.

Who This Fits

Irregular Income Is More Common Than the Advice Admits

You do not need to run a business for this to be your situation. If any of these describe how money reaches you, it does.

  • Commission or bonus makes up a real share of what you earn
  • You freelance, contract, or invoice rather than being paid on a fixed cycle
  • Your work is seasonal, so a strong stretch has to carry a quiet one
  • You have side income alongside a salary and it never quite gets a job of its own
  • Two incomes arrive on different cycles and the household runs on whichever landed last
  • Your business earns, but what reaches you personally is whatever is left
How the Work Goes

A Baseline You Can Count On, and a Buffer for the Rest

We start by finding the floor. Across a real stretch of your history rather than a good quarter, there is an amount you can genuinely count on. Your fixed obligations get built on that number and nothing above it, so the essentials stop depending on how the month went.

Everything above the floor is treated as variable rather than as extra, which is the distinction most people have never drawn. It funds a buffer first, then the goals you named: an emergency fund, paying off debt, or eventually replacing a salary. Guilt-free spending stays in the plan on purpose. This is not a system that works by taking the joy out of a good month.

The map for all of it is the Kamas Cash Compass™, my money map system. It is a financial GPS rather than financial handcuffs, and on irregular income the difference matters, because a GPS reroutes when the month does something you did not plan.

What this is not. I am a Certified Financial Coach with an M.Ed., not a CFP, a CPA, an attorney, or a registered investment adviser. I do not sell insurance, investment products, or securities, and I do not give investment advice. Tax questions belong with your CPA and I work alongside them rather than in place of them. When a question needs a licensed professional, I will say so.

Next Step

Start With a Conversation

If the irregular income is coming out of a business you run, that work sits inside small business financial coaching, which also covers owner pay and tax awareness. If it reaches you some other way, it belongs in Financially Fierce 1:1 coaching. Most clients notice meaningful clarity within the first two to three sessions.

Common Questions

Cash Flow Coaching FAQ

Common questions about money that does not arrive on a schedule

Irregular Income

How irregular is too irregular for this to work?

There is no threshold. Commission, contract work, seasonal swings, and a business that has good quarters and bad ones are all the same problem underneath: the money arrives on one schedule and the bills arrive on another. The work is building a rhythm that assumes variability instead of one that breaks the first month sales are down.

How do I decide what to pay myself?

Owner pay is one of the first things worth setting deliberately rather than taking whatever is left at the end. Leaving it to the remainder is what makes business money and personal money feel like one anxious pile, and it is why many owners cannot say what they actually earn.

Does this replace my accountant?

No, and it is not trying to. An accountant reports on money that has already moved and keeps the filing correct. Coaching works on the decisions that move it: what comes in, what stays, and what keeps getting in the way. I work alongside your CPA rather than in place of one.

The Work Itself

Do I need to bring bookkeeping software or spreadsheets?

No. Bring what you have, in whatever state it is in. If your numbers were already organised you would probably not need the conversation, and tidying them up first is one of the most common reasons people put off starting.

Is this only for businesses in trouble?

No. Plenty of the owners I work with are profitable and still cannot answer basic questions about their own money without opening four tabs. Clarity is worth having before a hard quarter arrives, not after.

Straight talk, practical tools, and support that lasts

When I met Sharon, I was walking in self-doubt. I was a master at talking myself out of going for what I wanted. I struggled in relationships and reacted to everything! I couldn't even imagine creating goals, much less reaching them. Sharon as my coach was like having a cheerleader on my shoulder, whispering "you've got this" all the time because she allowed me the space to figure out what was missing and go for it.

Before working with Sharon, I was struggling with saving money and my spending was all over the place. Half the time, I didn't even know where my money was going or what I was spending. Working with Sharon has allowed me to create an emergency fund and set goals that are so meaningful to me that I don't waver or get distracted when it comes to my money anymore. She helped me understand my options without making me feel guilty or ashamed of my situation. In two short months, I had a solid plan for paying off my debt, including paying off my house early, saving thousands in interest, and an emergency fund.

I decided to pursue coaching because I was feeling stuck. Because of this, I realized I needed to talk to someone who could provide an unbiased perspective of the things I was experiencing, while also not being afraid to hold me accountable for my actions. My friends recommended therapy, but I knew it wouldn't be the right fit for me. It wasn't until I suggested to a friend that we become accountability partners and the prospect fell flat that I realized I needed to find a way to become accountable for myself and my own actions. As a result of this, I decided to take the step to invest in myself and work with Sharon.

I had the privilege of being coached by Sharon and I can say that she is an exceptional coach. She listens attentively and provides sincere advice, always with my best interests at heart. Her ability to ask the right questions helps you find your own answers and discover new paths. Sharon genuinely cares about helping you reach your goals, offering a supportive and friendly hand along the way. I highly recommend Sharon to anyone looking for guidance and growth.

Sharon, you have been instrumental in helping me see not only what is possible, but what was holding me back. You have helped me uncover what years (and you know, it has been years) of therapy didn't touch. For the first time, I have money left at the end of the month AND all my bills are paid. No interest is being given away to a credit card, and I finally feel like retirement will be an option. But that isn't the best part.

The best part about investing in a coach is how confident I am with my money now and even more confident in how I communicate and advocate for myself.
